MIMOSA BOMEN DEEL 2
Zoals beloofd een closeup van de stam en bladeren van de rechtse boom uit het vorige bericht. De bladeren groeien uiteraard aan takken maar ook rechtstreeks uit de stam. Net iets te hoog om een blad te kunnen plukken. Duidelijk zijn de verwondingen aan de stam te zien, en aan een wond onderaan de stam (op de foto buiten beeld) groeien ook bladeren maar die waren al verdord.

Anton, I think the tree in your photo is a Dawn Redwood. This is a conifer which loses its leaves in the winter- you can see some of the leaves in the photo already beginning to change colour. They should turn yellow or red before they fall. Although this tree was only described in 1947, it widely distributed from the 50s onwards, and can be found in many parks and gardens in the UK and Ireland.

I highly appreciate your comment. And wow, the tree is even more "special" than I expected.
And also I thought all conifers were evergreens. The official name thus is the Metasequoia Glyptostroboides. Truelly amazing.
I will write a new message about it, and check for the other Acacia (Mimosa) in that former monastry gerden about which amother friend told me.
